Dmitry Tatarnikov

Dmitry V. TatarnikovDmitry Tatarnikov (Ph.D. - Moscow Aviation Institute, Department of Antennas and Radiotransmitting Devices)  received the MS degree (with honor) in Radioelectronics Engineering in 1983 from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), the PhD degree in antenna theory and technique from MAI in 1990, and the personal scientific title of Docent from the Government of the Russian Federation in 1995.

Dr.Tatarnikov has been teaching at MAI since 1983. He is Docent of the Department of Antennas  and Radiotransmitting Devices where he lectures on electromagnetic field theory and applications and on antenna theory and techniques. He sponsored several student research papers which were recognized by Golden Medal awards for student research by the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation. He is supervising MS thesis and dissertations.

He started his research at 1979 by joining the Laboratory of Miscrostrip Antenna and Phased Arrays Computer Simulations at MAI as a student research fellow. Later, as a Research Engineer, Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow.

He participated in numerous research projects in microstrip phased array antennas for radar and satellite communication systems. He cooperated with the Radiotechnical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Moscow  Research Institute of Radiocommunications.

Dr. Tatarnikov joined Ashtech Moscow in 1993 as a Research Engineer in the area of GNSS receiver antenna. He continued research with Javad Positioning as a Senior Research Engineer until 2000. Since then he has been the Antenna Design Chief at Topcon Positioning Systems.

Dr. Tatarnikov authored and co-authored more than 50 research papers and reports and frequently presented at conferences. He owns US and former Soviet Union patents. He is a member of IEEE.
